In a historic move, Kevin McCarthy was just ousted as Speaker of the House on October 1st. Here is the thing, he did it to himself, and now he is acting like a spoiled brat on his way out of the Speakers’ office.
Remember the 15 rounds of voting that ended on January 6th with Kevin McCarthy becoming the 55th Speaker of the House? Pushing and shoving, stare downs and yelling behind the scenes. He made so many concessions to get the job, here they are:
- Any member can call for a motion to vacate the speaker’s chair
- A McCarthy-aligned super-PAC (the Congressional Leadership Fund) agreed to not spend in open Republican primaries in safe seats
- The House will hold votes on key conservative bills, including a balanced budget amendment, congressional term limits, and border security
- Efforts to raise the nation’s debt ceiling must be paired with spending cuts
- Move 12 appropriations bills individually, instead of passing separate bills to fund government operations
- More Freedom Caucus representation on committees, including the influential House Rules Committee
- Cap discretionary spending at fiscal year 2022 levels, which would amount to lower levels for defense and domestic programs
- 72 hours to review bills before they come to floor
- Give members the ability to offer more amendments on the House floor
- Create an investigative committee to probe the “weaponization” of the federal government
- Restore the Holman rule, which can be used to reduce the salary of government officials
Here is my take. In addition to those things listed above McCarthy was supposed to release all of the January 6th tapes. Only a few minutes was released to Tucker Carlson which led to the release of the QAnon shaman from prison. So can you honestly say he did followed thru on much of that list? Speaker Kevin even caved on the debt ceiling negotiations! Hell he did a side deal with the Democrats to fund the government!! Guess who received about $132,000 for her re-election campaign, Lauren Boebert. She was one of those who opposed Kevin McCarthy becoming Speaker, it seems he bought her support. So this dumbass who was so desperate to become Speaker of the House agreed to all of these provisions and is lashing out at members in the House for voting him out! Kevin accused Matt Gaetz of fundraising off of bringing the motion to vacate the chair. Even if he did, you are the pot calling the kettle black. I get fundraising texts all the time from members of your own party every time anything stupid happens in Washington D.C. clown!!!! You couldn’t find it in yourself not to blame your own shortcomings as Speaker. As everyone in D.C. does blame someone else. Tell me how that is working for the American people!! It shows how self serving and self absorbed you are!!
