Your Political Party Failed You

We all have been witness to the Impeachment debacle, both the Democrats and Republicans did nothing to show me that they have our best interests in mind. We had grandstanding! We had procedure issues! We had total disregard for the law! Need I go on!!

Any Impeachment starts in the House of Representatives and they basically act as the prosecution. You start with Schiff and his “parody” reading of the Ukraine phone call. Apparently he could “read” what the President meant to the President of the Ukraine. In the “cough”, “cough” case against President Trump there seemed to be no credible evidence other than hearsay. Schiff would not allow any Republicans in the room as evidence was gathered. In order to remove any partisan stigma from this, he allowed one Republican in the room, once. A Republican that supported Hillary Clinton. When he finally let Republicans in the room, the gavel was his best friend. He would interrupt any question he did not want answered, with the gavel!!

Republicans in the House did themselves no favors during the fact finding. They all seemed to just sit back and allow all of this to happen. There were a couple of speeches on the floor of the House and that was it. Due process was thrown out the window. How about an injunction of some sort? The Democrats obviously have a majority but they just seemed to sit there and not fight!!

Let’s move to the Senate. Republicans have the majority. So it was a foregone conclusion what was going to happen. The prosecution aka the Democrats tried to pressure the Senate to allow more witnesses. If you are the prosecution shouldn’t your case be ready to go before the trial. Why would you demand more witnesses after you presented your case? You as the prosecution now look inept!

Here is my take. We have 535 elected officials to lead this country. One half couldn’t put a proper case together. The other half sat on their hands. How on God’s green earth can we entrust these people to make decisions on our behalf. Bottom line folks, get out and vote for someone other than anyone who has been in D.C.

Rand Paul

Over the years I have been a fan of Rand Paul. His very sensical view of what is happening in our current government is refreshing. He says some things that make some folks uncomfortable.

Recently he has put himself inline with my what the F**K are you doing!! He chairs the spending subcommittee of the Senate’s chief investigative and oversight committee. His end of year overspending tweet to the tune of $230 million shows how much our elected officials miss or don’t care about. The President, sends his budget proposal to the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. The funding levels for all federal departments, bureaus, offices, programs, independent agencies, discretionary grants, etc. is determined by the annual budget resolution. Why come out with an end of year overspending video when as a member of Congress you have to sign off on the budget resolution to begin with!! Do you not look at the resolution, don’t care? Why is there an overspending committee if you send it out at the end of the year? Shouldn’t this committee look at this before the President signs it?

We didn’t hear from the United States House Committee on Oversight and Reform on this issue. Maybe the reason we did not hear from them is the fact that this specific committee has twelve other potential “oversights” to look at? Wait, with 435 members no representative is involved with no more than two committees. Shouldn’t the oversight committee be more on the ball? Where is the concern for taxpayer money? It seems there is none!

Here is my take. I have worked with a budget most of my adult life in business. You know going in how much money you have to spend in the beginning. You have fixed spending during the year that does not change. This seems to me as what the Federal Government has to deal with. In this case how can you create a budget, sign off on the budget and at the end of the year tell me where we wasted $230 million!! You come off as uncaring to the job you were elected to do! Do you apply the same principles to your own money? How irresponsible considering that all the tax money came from the citizens of this country! We definitely need some folks in Congress that don’t want to lead from behind!!
